Life is not that hard for me at the moment because.....
1. I don't have to take the train to work. Yushi and another guy from our office are taking trains to get here, and they are a mess! Yushi finally decided to stay home today.
2. We already bought a HUGE thing of toilet paper at costco 2 weeks ago. The thing that people are having problems getting is toilet paper and tissue paper. Food they realized they already have enough in their household, so that madness is almost to the end.
3. Sumida area, which is my neighborhood is not included in the scheduled blackouts. We apparently have some sort of pump that needs to be going, and will not cut electricity for it. If this electricity goes off, this will NOT be part of the plan, and this is when I will be seriously worried.
As mentioned above, I am of the lucky group with no serious damage in my life that is severe. Am I scared? YES, but I have a home to live, electricity running, and lots of caring people who I can contact. It breaks my heart everytime I turn on the TV and see those news reports about those who do not have a roof on top of them, no electiricity, no information about their loved ones if they are alive or not.
You feel terrible for not being able to help those in need because you are so far away? Trust me, we have a whole bunch of those people feeling the same way here in tokyo.
Let me share this site with you. This came from twitter, and it has lots of good stories that happened in this crysis. This makes me cry everytime.
